Twins | Dear Harry and Matthew...19 Months old.

Well babies, (I refuse to accept the word toddlers) today you are 19 months old.  Mummy always refers to you as 'the babies' and never 'the twins'!  You are my baby boys and that's that.  This is the first blog post I have written about your milestones, so I have a lot to tell you.

In a nutshell, you are 2 little monkeys.  Everybody agrees.  If I could show you a picture of our home, before you came along, it would look very different to today.  If I could show you your grandmas' homes, they also would look very different.  The reason is because of your highly inquisitive natures.  You both adore wires and lamps.  Any wires that are on show, you have them.  As a result, Daddy has no Sky Tv in the lounge and we only have 1 phone, which is in the kitchen.

Matthew, why are you so obsessed with sitting in the lounge window and pulling all the chains off mummy's vertical blinds? Harry, why do you like climbing onto the couch and swinging the pictures that are sitting quietly on my walls?  Why do you find my lamps so fascinating when they are surrounded by more toys than Toys R Us?

Wait...if you didn't do these things, you wouldn't be who you are today.  Any time you feel like stopping though... you just do that.

What are the things we love about you.  You both enjoy looking out of the side window we have, and spying on next door's cat.  This is often accompanied with a 'woof woof' from you, and a correction from mummy telling you that cats don't bark, they meow!

You adore watching Balamory.  You like to watch the same episodes over and over again.  You also enjoy dancing to 'In the Night Garden'.

You like to remind mummy to give you a fork when we feed you and have just learned how to indicate that you would like a biscuit.  You also still really enjoy a morning and evening bottle of milk, but like to fall out over which bottle is yours. Harry, yours is the white one not the blue!

You go to bed at 7 and wake at 7 the next morning.  We love how you have always been good sleepers.  You both still sleep in your cot, but Matthew why have you waited until the Autumn to decide to take your sleeping bag off in the night?  I have had to put you into a onesie with a hidden zip, to keep you warm at night.

During the last couple of weeks, you have been trying to sing Baa, Baa Black Sheep and Row, Row, Row Your Boat.  You clever little sausages.  You can also say mama, dada, grandma/granddad (same word) woof, woof, ta, and Harry, you can say 'get down' which is hilarious, as you copy mummy when she is telling Matthew to come down from climbing up onto the television stand.

You both enjoy being tipped upside down by Lauren and she makes you both laugh by being silly.
We love you both very much and are very lucky to have you in our lives.

Love Mummy, Daddy and Lauren x

  1. My twins (who have always been 'the girls' rather than 'the twins') are 13 now so it's a long time since I had two little ones plotting with each other to destroy the house! But I do have a 17 month old though so he is at a similar stage to your boys. Sounds like they are developing really well and their speech sounds like its coming along great!
Thanks for linking up with #MultipleMadness x
