Real Life | My Highs and Lows of 2014

I grabbed this tag from Northumberland Mam's blog. I've wanted to do one for ages, so thank you for offering it out to your readers.

 1. What was your happiest event?

I celebrated my 40th Birthday in September. I went to London with my Husband for a weekend and then to York for a boozy weekend with the girls.  I thoroughly enjoyed both weekends and also the planning that went into them both - I'm a control freak and love 'detail'.
2. What was the saddest thing to happen?
A health scare, for me, that knocked me for six, but it will hopefully be ok in the future.

3. What was the most unlikely thing to happen that actually went ahead and did?
We decided, Lauren and I, that we would book Disneyland paris. A leaflet came through the door, and the next minute, we'd booked it for March. We went with my Mum for 3 nights and it was brilliant. A real experience that I will repeat when Harry and Matthew are old enough.

4. Who let you down?
Nobody, apart from me. I am my own worst enemy! Ha, ha.

5. Who supported you?
My Husband, Mum and Dad, as always, and my good friend at work who I tell all my troubles to.

6. Tell us what you learned.
That 'it's not what you know, but who you know' after a few promotion opportunities that I applied for, went to people who had pretty much got the job before the interviews.

7. Tell us what made you laugh.
The antics of Harry and Matthew, on a daily basis. They are so funny.
Harry telling Matthew off is my particular favourite funny thing.

8. Tell us the things that made you cry.

Just the health issue I had to face. Oh, and nearly not getting our passports for our family holiday. What a stressful fiasco that was!

9. Tell us three things your child or children did to make you feel proud.
Lauren- was brave enough to stand in front of the Britain's Got Talent judges in December and didn't cry when she didn't get through.

Harry and Matthew make me feel proud every time we go out - we get asked a lot of questions on our journeys.

10. Tell us the things that made you proud of yourself.
I lost a bit of weight at the start of the year and learned to keep my head held high when it wanted to topple from my shoulders. I am also proud of the way I've built this blog from scratch including mastering some HTML knowledge.

11. Tell us the challenges you overcame.
Ha, ha, putting them flipping social media buttons on my blog. Seems easy now, but I sweat blood, sweat and tears over it!

12. Tell us the things you would like to change about your life in 2015.
I've written a blog post about this.... Here

Why not grab the tag from Northumberland Mam.

  1. What a year! Disney Land, Britain's Got Talent and social media buttons - well done with that last one, I'd have no idea how to do it!!! Sorry to hear about your health scare, I hope you're recovered now xxx
