Espadrilles are everywhere in the shops at the moment. They are so much better than they used to be as most now come with a proper sole to protect the traditional rope, that is often used to make them. When I was little, I remember buying a pair from Spain and when I stood in a puddle or wore them round the pool, they started to come apart. They have come a long way since then.
I have to admit that I like a bit of sparkle and when combined with tanned feet, these could look great.
There are heeled wedges as well as platforms, but for a mum on the run, like me, I prefer to wear the flat ones.
Once known as the shoes of peasants, espadrilles have really made it in the world of fashion - Chanel made a pair that were selling for £700.00. You'll be glad to know that, as ever, my choices are more purse friendly, starting as little as £10.00.
I would probably wear these with skinny jeans or boyfriend jeans, rolled up for a casual day look throughout the summer months.
So without further a do, let's...
