Hot Chocolate Recipes to try this Autumn

Hot Chocolate Recipes to try this Autumn

Lauren and I love nothing more than sneaking off on Autumn Saturday afternoons, into town, for a luxury Hot Chocolate or Latte.  We argue over whether it will be Costa or Starbucks.  I'm the Hot Chocolate fan and Lauren is all for the Lattes.  It can mount up though, a visit to a coffee shop, so I've been having a look for ways that we still get the luxury, but for less.

There are some seriously good recipes out there for either creating your own Hot Chocolate from scratch, or for adding your own twist to a ready made mix.  Either way, there's nothing better on a chilly Autumn afternoon than one of these.

 Sea Salt Hot Chocolate

This recipe is a make from scratch recipe that even suggests using Caramac for a caramel flavour substitute.  I love anything with sea salt and how rich does this look?
You can get the full details from The Simple Things Magazine here.

Caramel Hot Chocolate

The recipe for this relies heavily on caramel sauce, which is made from scratch.  If you don't want to make the sauce from scratch, you could always add a caramel syrup at the end and make it with more chocolate.  Marks and Spencer are selling these for £3.00 a bottle at the moment.

Nutella Hot Chocolate

This one is for those watching their weight, especially if you follow the Weight Watchers plan.  It's worth 5pp if you don't add the toppings, but I'm afraid  I would have to have them.  Look how gorgeous it is running down the side of the mug and the nuttiness of the Nutella would really come through in the flavour.

White Hot Chocolate

I've never actually tried white chocolate in a hot drink, but this is one I think I might make over the coming weeks.  The clear glass mugs, add to the effect of this one, because it obviously emphasises the whiteness of the drink.  I think my boys would like this one.

I hope I've inspired you to try some of these recipes over the coming weeks.  Which is your favourite?
