Lauren, her friend and I have recently been lucky enough to go to see Disney on Ice Frozen at the Manchester Arena. It is something we have wanted to do for a while, but just hadn't got round to sorting with the chaos of raising twins. So off we toddled to the opening night in Manchester.
As soon as we had parked up in the city centre, it was clear to see who was going to the show. All the little ones were dressed in their Elsa and Anna costumes. They made a lot of effort to look the part and you could sense the buzz of excitement radiating from their little faces. We took our seats just in time for the 6:30pm start. We were almost ring-side and had a perfect view of everything that was happening on the ice.
I liked the little podiums in the corner of the rink, where the characters came to give a little wave to the audience. I'm going to be careful not to spoil it for you by giving too much away, but want to share the highlights for you, here.
The opening to the show started with a wide range of Disney characters which is always nice to see and really gets the crowd fired up for the show ahead. The presence of snow added to the atmosphere and the arena really did feel colder when it was falling. I do recommend that you take a coat, you can always take it off, if need be. The costumes were really amazing and so bright in colour.
Sven and the way he moved around the ice, had me trans-fixed. He comes right up to the edge of the rink, to greet the audience and he was highly welcomed.
The show lasted for around 40minutes in the first half, followed by a 20 minute break, then a further 40 minute second half. If finished at about 8:20p.m. which was early enough to get home and get the kids in bed, without it being too much of an issue. I liked the pace of the show. There were no times when the girls looked bored, because there was so much going on, not to mention the singing. All the favourites were included and the audience enjoyed joining in.
We really enjoyed our evening watching Disney on Ice Frozen and would recommend it, if you are still able to grab some tickets for the remaining shows.
Have you been to see Disney On Ice Frozen yet?
