Lauren and I were recently invited to The Body Shop in the intu Trafford Centre, Manchester, to find out more about their latest Christmas beauty ranges for 2016. As soon as we walked through the door, I was struck by how bright and festive the packaging was and the smell was gorgeous too.
I have been a lover of The Body Shop for many years and I particularly love their massive cruelty- free approach to the products they produce and their dedication to helping the planet. This Christmas there are 3 new scents available to purchase - Spiced Apple, Frosted Berries and Vanilla Chai.
My favourite was Spiced Apple. It is just sooo Christmassy with it's apple fruit extract, from the Alps, cinnamon and orange and white flowers. I couldn't get enough of this scent and ended up buying, the lip balm, hand cream, body lotion and shower gel, on the evening. I'm looking forward to using it all as the Christmas season gets into full swing.
The Frosted Berries scent was also really lovely, but smelt too similar to other strawberry scented products I already own. This scent contains cranberry seed oil, fresh berries and sweet vanilla. To me, it was more fruity scented than Christmassy, but still great as a festive treat.
The third scent is Vanilla Chai. If you are a regular reader, you will know that I very rarely pick vanilla scents for beauty products or candles. I just can't take to this aroma too well. I do know that lots of people do love vanilla, though, and you wouldn't be disappointed with the intensity of this. It also contains cardamon and star anise for a little Christmas twist.
The Body Shop's Christmas range contains so many products too. In the three scents mentioned above, you could purchase.
- Lip Balm £4.00
- Scented Candle £10.00
- Body Scrub £15.00
- Shower Gel £ 5.00
- Foaming Bath £10.00
- Shimmer Mist £12.00
- Hand Cream £ 4.00
- Fragrance Oil £4.00
- Body Gel-Lotion £8.00
- Softening Body Butter £14.00
There was also a lovely festive tin shaped as a shiny apple, containing mini shower gel, body butter, body scrub and body lotion for £18.00 - Great as a gift or a treat for yourself if you just want to use the scent over the Christmas period and not be left with any into the New Year.
At the moment there seems to be some good discounts popping up, if you subscribe to The Body Shop emails. Just this weekend, I received one for 40% off, which is perfect for buying those Christmas gifts right now. Speaking of which, check out these gift packaged packs priced at £20.00. The scents are the more traditional ones rather than the Christmas ones, but at £12.00 each if you can get your hands on a discount code, they are great value.
Have you been into The Body Shop recently? Which is your favourite scent?
*I was provided with a Strawberry gift set priced at £20.00 if I spent £20.00 in store on the evening and this is what I did.
