The Jungle Play Centre - Warrington.

The Jungle Warrington

We live quite close to The Jungle in Warrington and it's a place I have visited many times when they occupied the previous building.  I say previous, because they have now moved to bigger premises on Pinners Brow Retail Park, Warrington and they asked us if we fancied checking out the new location for a little review. We jumped at the chance, of course, as we were super keen to see what it was like.

When you first walk in, the whole place seems definitely bigger and more spacious.  It's bright and airy with lots of natural light flooding in.  The deco, still picks up on the jungle theme, but it's a little more subtle and not quite as cosy as the old place.  But this is a good thing. Cosy means less space and less space means more disappointed little customers.  The owner told me that they had pretty much outgrown the previous location because of demand, so a change was needed to cater for this.

Because of the bigger building, they can provide a bigger variety of things to do.  My youngest two liked investigating the WOW! toys in a little area set aside.  It's full of colourful, robust toys for your children to play with and if they take a real shine to one particular type, they are available to buy there and then. This area is fenced off with a low height padded wall, so it would be great for smaller children who want to roll around without getting trodden on, as can sometimes happen when kids get excitable.

It was great to know that the same great café facilities were available serving up a gorgeous range of teas and coffees.  I also spotted the cakes and biscuits sitting in the cute little jars.  So tempting to have while the children were playing happily. There is a good selection of food available for little ones too with an afternoon meal deal for just £5.50 which includes play time and any meal from the children's menu.

The toilets were open plan, which I think is great from a child protection point of view.  It was easy to see if the boys had gone in there and the spacious set up offered privacy, but only enough for what is needed. There was nowhere to hide and I was super impressed by this.

There are 3 party rooms at The Jungle Warrington, The Treehouse, The Lost Jungle and Basecamp. This image from The Treehouse area gives you a flavour of the stone and metal effect.  This area comfortably sits 30 children.

So how did the kids find the facilities?

They loved it.  There was easily enough equipment to keep them occupied for the 90 minutes we were there.  They enjoyed both the 45ft four lane wavy slide and the giant tube slide. There were trampolines and ball pools along with a myriad of things to climb, roll over and pounce on.  It was easy to locate both boys from where I was sitting, because of the bright and open feel to the play area, even though there are two floors in the building.

An added extra to the whole experience was the inclusion of a ball games area.  Lauren, who only just met the height restrictions for play, so check before you leave, really enjoyed practicing her netball skills using the nets.  This is a great area for the older ones, who are 'too cool for school' but have gone along with a younger brother or sister.

Lauren also enjoyed taking part in a treasure hunt which was organised while we there and there was a chance to dance in the party area too.

Aw! How cute are these? They are little pedal operated rides that spin and travel.  Harry and Matthew loved them.  There is a £1.00 per ride charge to use them, in addition to the entrance fee, but I didn't think this was unreasonable.

All in all, we loved The 'new; Jungle and will definitely be paying them a visit again very soon, especially as half term is looming.  It was a great afternoon out.
